What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a modern way to adjust the alignment of your smile. The treatment involves a series of flexible plastic aligners that you place over your teeth every day. The aligners are clear, so they are difficult or impossible for others to notice when you smile. They’re made to fit snugly over your teeth so they won’t fall out.

During the planning stage, Dr. Guinn takes images and X-rays of your teeth and jaw. She uses digital impressions to create your plastic aligners and plans exactly how your teeth should move.
You should wear each aligner in the series for one to two weeks or however long Dr. Guinn tells you to. You should also need to wear them for 20-22 hours each day, which gives you time to take them out for eating and cleaning.

​​​​​​​Each aligner pushes your teeth closer toward their ideal position. Instead of using metal wires and rubber bands for pressure, the shape of the plastic places pressure on specific parts of your teeth to guide them to their new position.
