6 Tips to Make Your Smile Pop This Summer

Your smile matters! That’s what 36% of Americans say when asked if their smile would improve their social lives. If you’re unhappy with your smile, you’re not alone. Over a third of American adults say they aren’t happy with their smiles either.

At The Smile Agency, Dr. Karen Guinn and our team are here to help you achieve your best smile possible. We're well-experienced and skilled in addressing all your general and cosmetic dental needs.

Here are six tips to help your smile pop just in time for summer:

The first step to a brighter, selfie-ready summer smile is whiter teeth. That's where teeth whitening comes in. You can opt for an in-office treatment or a take-home whitening kit. That said, our in-house sessions are typically more effective and efficient and can whiten your teeth in just about an hour.

This probably doesn’t sound like the most exciting tip, but the best route to a better smile lies in daily maintenance. Remember to brush your teeth twice a day and to floss daily. Brushing helps remove plaque and germs on your teeth, while flossing gets at the spaces in-between your teeth.

It’s important to keep your regular dental appointments, at least once every six months. Without regular dental care, you could experience serious dental problems. For example, gingivitis, a receding gum line, and bleeding gums.

If your teeth are cracked chipped or misshapen, you might benefit from bonding. With bonding, we attach materials like porcelain or resin to your teeth to fill in gaps caused by chips, cracks, or complete breaks in your teeth. We can also use bonding to smooth out and reshape your teeth.

Even if your teeth are white, they can still stain over time if you drink a lot of teeth-staining beverages like coffee, tea, and red wine. If you can’t limit your intake of coffee and tea, try drinking them iced through a straw.

Missing teeth have no place in summer beach selfies. In addition to impairing the aesthetic quality of your smile, missing teeth can also cause your jaw to shrink.

With dental implants, we drill titanium pegs into your jaw, then we attach porcelain teeth that are made to mimic the shape and texture of your natural teeth.
